Himalayan Free Clinic, Virginia, is well-reputed and a pioneer health care service provider with medical expertise from the Nepalese diaspora in Virginia, USA. The Institute’s motto is that they believe that healthcare is the right of all individuals. carried forward with the mission of providing healthcare at no cost to the residents of the Nepali community who cannot afford such services and have no health insurance is credible and praiseworthy. This is the game changer in the medical service for the region, at least for the people who cannot afford should not be at the mercy of uncertain circumstances. A commendable effort and service with compassionate measures kept in mind is an appreciative initiative.
Considering the increasing number of migrants from Nepal in the region over the past few decades and the need for a safety net for people who are not protected by insurance, the Institute has considered and initiated a program to provide a safety net to those immigrants who don’t have health and medical insurance backup, targeting especially people above the age of 50 with free health checkups.
Himalayan Free Clinic is primarily involved in chronic care management, counseling on chronic diseases such as diabetes, various low-cost screenings, and referrals to appropriate local public resources if needed.
The essential requirement for the patients to be seen at a free clinic;
The patient has to be a resident of the state of Virginia, where our physicians are licensed.
Patients need to be seen in the office if they are not residents of Virginia.
